gt4 to date...

ok maybe in the wrong place and not realy to do with games but hey ho..

bought it as a standard import celica st205 GTFour, all the extras from factory included.

how the engine used to look...

then the changes began..
first off a blitz nur spec r exhaust system..

then the aussie 3" front pipes to join the blitz

then the process of gutting the under bonnet insulation and removal of stock intake for apexi power intake..

then the blitz DSBC was installed for a bit more fun..

a ceramic aussie 3" downpipe was installed to remove the cat / downpipe combo to make the system a 3" straight through from the turbo out..
massive wastegate path.. smooth

turbos in good nick... twin wastegate design of the ct20b

all installed...

i then decided to spray the heatshield to make it nicer.

couple of coats and looks much better

toyota sprint series happend...

and then i realised how much boost creep i got in winter time, we tested the intake temps with the charge cooler installed and it wasnt a viable option to run 1.2 bar boost so this also had to go.....

poor car

Re: gt4 to date...

for my nice big fmic from forge... cost the price of a small car! :O lol

trial fitments happend

then we finally finished the pipework and the bits put back together, it is beleive to be the only st205 using a ic this size to retain all oem coolers and foglights in the original mounting locations.

8 weeks later and alot of effort..

all back in and boost creep cured do to having such massive capacity in comparison to the cc setup, intakes down massively, and all good for me to drive the nurburg and donington park at flat out pace! :D

Re: gt4 to date...

Working for me.

I can tell you, this car is f'kin awsome! Such fun to be in and looks great. I like how the huge intercooler looks now through the grills at the front! You should put a pic of the engine bay as it is now with the coloured hoses, Dale.

Re: gt4 to date...

you need to update your sig to what you have now, rather than at the rr when you had less done on the car. Which btw, when are you going to have another RR day!

Re: gt4 to date...

the blue pipe under the induction shall be changed to a hard pipe once they get more in stock, although i like the blue! lol

the blakc pipe at the throttle body shall also be changed for mirror polished alloy like the rest once alex gets a tig welder.

for now though he made the pipe out of mild then sprayed etc.. the dv is rather loud now with the pipe right next to the tb! :D

not the best pics but its cold outside in shorts

Re: gt4 to date...

Lots of work there, Dale. That engine still have the stock guts? Seems a bit heavy on the boost for a stock motor, even with the aspiration mods that you made. Any tuning had to be done with the brain to compensate?
